anyone been ? whats it like ? who did you go with etc ? thanks
Went with Exodus on their Atlas Descent holiday.
Place was wonderful, weather was lovely, people were great, organisation was good. Absolutely no recollection of riding offroad down a hill....

Absolutely no recollection of riding offroad down a hill....
Surely the point of the trip?
Personally I'd go with Saddle Skedaddle or Cycleactive, maybe even KE...

Check out Freeride Morocco. I can't recommend them enough. It depends what you're wanting though...we spent five days riding across the Atlas Mountains, with a van carrying all our gear to each nights accommodation. This meant we had to ride a variety of terrain to link each place up...I thought it just added to the adventure of it all.
I've written what I thought of it in another post (on the Bear Bones Bikepacking site).
I'd already typed the above before seeing the fresh posts...I would say the trip I did was nearly half the price of those mentioned, I very much doubt that they'd be twice as good! ๐
EDIT: Here's another link with some info on trips to Morocco (here on STW).
Heading there with ciclo Montana/amigo in about 3 weeks. Can't wait ๐
Shall report back

Hey thats good to hear d45yth - we've booked with Freeride Morocco for September, having had a good time with Freeride Spain a (good) few years ago now.
Can't wait!
A friend wrote an article on it for STW maybe two years back, june or july 2011 if you can download the old mags
mtbtomo - I'd been on one of their Spanish trips before going to Morocco with them too. The riding is similar but everything is just more epic! I'll definitely be going back at some point. ๐
d45yth - can you remember what the climbs are like? I'm currently running 1 x 10 on a Lapierre Zesty which is fine for pretty much anything I'd ride in the UK, but debating whether to get at least a double for Morocco so that I'm not wrecked by consecutive days of riding.
Any thoughts?
mtbtomo - If you're fine riding 1x10 here then you'll be alright I guess...there was one day where it was nearly all uphill though and some hellish steep ones on some of the other days. I'd prefer more gears but that's me. (Don't want to get into that debate on here!).
I know Simon was checking out more routes so there's no guarantee you'll be doing the same one I did. Remember that the mountains are bigger over there too!
hi d45yth how fit do u have to be ? is it very techy ?cheers
I wrote a kindness of Strangers article after the KE Atlas Traverse.. Brilliant trip. Pretty tough, some days 80k and climbing... worked out it was the same as 3 laps of Ae which we did as training..
Exodus Atlas Descent is like Rachel said, lots of sections and van hops, very bitty. Liz the guide however was brilliant but given an impossible 13:1 ratio.
KE Atlas traverse, fantastic.... loads of drama and un plannable stuff which made the trip. Jose is guiding on the Ciclo Enduro trip mentioned above and he was superb. Knew the local tucked away off teh beaten track stuff and the cultural perspective which made all the difference.
Did another Ke and it was a try out and too early in the season, there was too much snow, the guides were poorly informed and it was rubbish.
Love the country, loved the riding. Cant fault any of it really. Proper adventures and cant wait to be back...

That was my thought, that the climbs will be longer and whilst I might manage one day, I could have wrecked myself for the next.
The group I was with was of very mixed abilities. The weather had been terrible over here beforehand too, meaning most folk had hardly been out for a couple months. Everyone managed though. The van would also meet us roughly halfway into our rides with our lunch, there was the option to hop onboard at these times but no one did. There was a short day mid-week too, those feeling it could rest up but most of us went and did a ride in the afternoon.
