[#2058390]

There'a a bunch of us riding in the Settle area in a few weeks and could do with a good pub stop for lunch as close to Settle as possible.
I know the area quite well but I've only ever eaten at the chippy in Settle.
Any recomendations?

Golden Lion food is good. The Naked Man (cafe) or Poppies (cafe) is good too

Take a trip down to Tosside and go to the Dog and partridge. Superb food!.
You could even do a lap of Gisburn Forest after!

Golden Lion sounds like a good idea (the guys I'm with are set on having a pint with lunch)

Tosside will be a bit out of range for us but I do mean to try it at some point.

If it helps we're coming though Settle on the way to Stainforth, ending in Clapham. Any other recomendations on route would also be welcome.

For a proper old school pub experience, complete with grumpy landlord - try the Falcon Inn at Arncliffe - beer still served from the barrel into a jug and passed through a hatch from the cellar. If it's still going/like that - not been for years.

The Craven Heifer in Stainforth Village does nice food. They have a large covered outdoor area by the river too.

Not a pub, but Elaine's Tearooms in Feizor is very good, if you're passing

Thanks all.

I had wondered about Craven Heifer & Helwith Bridge, good to hear they're worth a visit.
I've been past the Elaine's Tearooms a few times, next time I'll make a point of stopping - it looked quite busy last Saturday.
