Previous years, postal entries and all the hype about getting entries in to make sure of a place....

Web sales show that over 1 month there is still availability for most categories 🙄

previous years people put team sheets in with fake names until theyd finalised their teams and drove and hand delivered them to Pat's house. Oversubscribed and sold out quickly. Not hype, just not as popular for some reason this year?

maybe mtb's aren't as fashionable anymore and the focus is now sportives, maybe the people realise the course isn't really that good in the wet, maybe the whole market has reached saturation point, maybe the cost of fuel/entries/etc has started to bite?

Because they fiddled around with the numbers - some categories were full, others were half empty so by reducing the numbers for one category, you can increase it for another. Hence now there's still space for most.

If you check though theres only a handful of spots in the remaining categories though.Solo still sold out very quickly.Theres also a lot more choice of 12 and 24 hour events now,and with peoples pockets feeling the pinch, riders are probably cutting back on which events they do.Still think it will sell out as there is still more than 2 months to go.

Tis true
The last one I did was 2010 and it cost around £300 for the weekend all in - TBH it wasn't £300 good

Well, yes in that people didn't get in after that...

It's like most events, it'll grow, be oversubscribed and then decline. Some events then grow/change again, some just die off.
