Have just watched the 2008 world cup at Canberra, and am now about to watch "Ride Guide" on Xtreme TV. I have also managed to catch the odd lunchtime show on Sky mid week.
Seems to me these shows are not regularly scheduled, but they can be pretty good, featuring a real mix of riding, and not just the hardcore stuff.
What do people think of coverage on tv - we don't seem to chat too much about it here. Maybe because there seem to be some great little tv shows, but they are tucked away mid week and in the day when most are working?
Really rare for me to catch any mtb on tv
but on the net I've been getting into freecaster.tv recently.
I have the ride guide on series link on sky.
it makes me want to move to BC
I don't know if they've made more than about six episodes of Ride Guide, but I always see the same ones. Same with that Drop In show to an extent.
Drop In is better I think, in that it shows more riding and has less boring travelogue sections. I don't care what pro riders think about the vibe in Hawaii or wherever - they just say the same thing wherever they go anyway.
"It's like super mellow but there some, like, super techy bits too. And the locals are, like, super cool."
God I'm in a bad mood today. This is what trying to do my VAT returns with a hangover does to me.
Mtb on TV looks gash anyway...
Drop In is good. That Ride Guide is rather dull.
Watched Eurosport's coverage of the world champs 4X and DH, last week and it was riveting despite the TERRIBLE COMMENTARY. Why can't they find someone who knows something about the riders and their bikes? He even called Josh Bryceland, Josh Brickland ffs! "Miami Brick"?
