What you really want is a small frame Vespa with a 135cc kit, big carb and rude exhaust.

Hopefully the fuel injection will work right, unlike the V-dud.

And if it does, then maybe, just maybe we'll see more 2Ts, fingers crossed,

Have you seen scooter racing? They can make them go very quick but they don't go around corners. It's carnage, and bloody hilarious.

Is it just me, or is that a very large front disc?

Too much money and probably horribly unreliable and a misery to own. I'd love a go on someone else's though 🙂

Surely for that kind of money you could buy a genuine 500gp bike and afford to actually ride it!

Or an RS250 and run it for about a million seasons worth of racing....

Edit - don't go Here if you want your bank balance to remain intact....

I do like two stroke motorcycles.
This RGV250/500 was for sale at Stafford the other month.

I still look at Apprillia RS250's on Autotrader every other week! There's just something incredible about the noise 2 strokes make.

Re Scooter Racing:

Many boxes of little pistons.
All screwed beyond belief.

Scooters - yachts for poor people.

If you like proper 2 stroke madness next time you're in the newsagents treat yourselves to copy of Classic Motorcycle Mechanics & read the Stan Stephens column. He's currently building a V6 RD1200,based on two sets of RD500LC crankcases using some snowmobile cylinders.
In last months copy he was working on a Spondon fitted with a 500LC motor converted to 680cc 😯

The Stan Stevens articles are good, when they don't read like an advert for all his mates!

Also, this:

Stupid, and dangerous. But utterly batshit mental all the same.

That is lovely! Makes me want my '93 RGV250 back..tuned RS250 engine, Nikkon GP pipes..74bhp @ the rear wheel, damn that was a fun bike.

Should never sold the RGV250 but I may not have lived to miss the wee hooligan. Nothing hustles corners like a 120kg of sticky rubber shod two stroke missile. Mine was geared for a shade over a ton and needed to be fed gears quickly.

100,000 is a lot of lolly and you could get a small fleet of mint tuned two strokes for a fraction. Its still gorgeous mind.

But to have four pipes must be better....

NSR warm up vid is pure, pure two smoke porn, ain't nothing smells sweeter than a hot two stroke on nice oil, and don't they sound mean. 🙂 . My background is more MX than road racing, which makes this an obvious flag to wave, but the sport has absolutely turned to shite since the manufacturers thrust four strokes upon us - I honestly don't think there's anything I prefer, soundwise, in the whole spectrum of motorsport above the sound of a full line-up of 125s going "nnnnnnnnBRAAAAAAAAAAA" when the gate drops. 🙂

Big 2 stroke was killed prematurely or maybe just outright wrongly imo. I don't like 'em to ride, I like a diesel vtwin but it's possible to make very efficient, pretty environmentally 2 stokes. It's largely about emissions laws, rather than real environmental impact IIRC.

PS, Tyga RGV

Braaaaaaaarrrrrrrrp.

I almost got beat by an Italjet Dragster at Crail 😆 I only got him because I had the top end, his 1/8th time was ridiculous but IIRC he just missed 100mph.
