All lovely bikes and have owned the first two although Turner was a 5 Spot and the other two were, are just bikes I'd love to have owned. San Andreas is a good call though and current bike hammering my psychi is a Chromag Samuri just to see if they ride as good as they look!
Would have to give the Orange Five a mention for the sheer trail domininance

I feel quite lucky when it comes to bikes, because there are few i've wanted and never been able to have. By luck, saving, right/time/place etc:
Started with
87 Bear Valley
90 Funk pro Compe (i lived in California, seemed churlish not to)
92 GT RTS-1 (with tioga disk wheel rear, all Tomac-esque)
94 San Andreas
95 Yeti FRO
96 Spesh FSR elite.
2000 Spesh Enduro
2005 Spesh SX trail - which i still have and love.
I'm now too old, and sensible to chase some elite/ideal/boutique bike brand. And, after all... i have an SX trail. enough for me.
Doug Bradbury Manitou hard tail MK1 I woned one, fantastic bike. sold it at a Singletrack boot sale several years ago. wonder were she is now ๐ฅ
I have mine ๐
Y22 and Bonty Priv ๐
Future icon = Blue Pig which I also have
Also have an old Saracen and Raliegh m-trax carbon ๐

You mean the proper pre-Answer, made in Dougs garage frames? Any photos?
Had my dream bike in the 90`s ๐ .. Zaskar LE , lots of XTR .. Brakes, Mechs, Wheels with ceramic rims .. XT thumbshifters, polished mag 21 forks, middleburn chainset and some blue bits ๐ ....
Did help in the fact i was working for a frame builder at the time and the XTR stuff was almost as cheap as LX stuff ๐

Only a few things I've not had but really wanted
Dekerf team sl
Merlin XML
Dogs bolx in white
Maybe a pre trek bontrager frame
Do miss my 2004 sworks enduro or muddy fox cromo ultimate though
Raleigh Dynatech?
Always wanted the 'Pro' version that wasn't commercially available and...
got one which I rode for a couple of years...
Then sold it to fund a motorbike ๐ฅ
It then got nicked off the guy I sold it too..

I've got a Dynatech, no way should it grace the "most wanted" list IMO.
Also got a Roberts DOGS BOLX but haven't used it in a few yrs <hangs head in shame>
Bontrager Race Lite RS - this was the pre-Trek suspension corrected frame built by the man himself from True Temper road tubes. Came with a pair of original RockShox with a special set of Bontrager crowns. I used to have one. It got nicked. Rare as hens teeth these days.
Others I'd lust after -
Fat Chance Yo Eddy
Mountain Goat Whiskey Town Racer
Yeti ARC
Marin Team Titanium
Klein Attitude (the origianl version with the pink/white/green paint job).
Trimble Inverse 4 (amazingly they're still in business!!)
Muddy Fox Limited Edition (Suntour Roller-Cam brakes, anyone??)
Overbury's Pioneer - absolutely classic frame design.
Dave Yates - remember him? He builds some beautiful, classic bike frames.
if anybody wants a shot on my ibis bowTi and are near west london village send me an email.
It's all DH ๐
The Specialized FSR DH that Palmer rode was a work of absolutely beauty. I reckon it's a great looking bike - even looks good by today's standards (bar the enormous 46t front ring!)
Cannondale Gemini DH - with two shocks for 18 square inches of travel. A fantastic bit of out-of-the-box thinking, although apparently it didn't work well enough to warrant the extra weight. Would love to have a ride on one though.
Yeti 303. Very 2006, but I loved the look and the idea behind the rail-driven shock. Nearly got one as my first DH bike before I went for an Intense instead!
I have a classic/iconic mountain bike. The Bridgestone MB-Zip This was the second bike I ever owner and I started to become a Weight Weenie with this bike and I have never looked back.

[/img]
The other bike is my Serotta T-Max
[img] [/img]
Lastly I would have to say the 1988 Kestrel Carbon Soft Tail.

Weather is great here in southern Spain so took out my 96 Kona Cinder Cone today and it still handles as well as my new BH.
I had a new Proflex 955 with Girvin front forks , i built it frame up from a shop in Caversham i think,Mountain High? i saw it on the cover of an mtb mag and had to have it. I sold it a while ago on ebay ,still mint condition, and i miss it now.
I own my two choices- first is a '92 Cinder Cone, always wanted one- got a '94 one and sold it in about 1998 for a Santa Cruz Chameleon (which was awesome by the way).
Got my '92 Cinder Cone last year (thanks to Ringo on Retrobike):

And the other is a 2004 Intense Spider- wanted it ever since i saw the first one (can't remember when they first came out) a few years earlier. Got it in 2005 and annoyed the bank manager in the process ๐
I'd still love a 1994 Kona Hei Hei though. Oh and a San Andreas ๐
1996 Zaskar in Frost Red with Pace Evo forks.
Luckily, I've owned one since new.
I still have a couple of frames that were iconic to at least me back in the late 90's early 00's
The original Cove Stiffee
Turner burner
Both were so far removed from standard Raleigh stuff (even the team pro I used to own) I had been riding up until then & those bikes opened my mind to to real mountain biking rather than going for a ride around footpaths & bridal ways in London.
Cannondale Beast of the East!
GT LTS, polished finish.
GT Zaskar also polished.
Giant ATX 900 - Full susser Rob Warner used for a long time.
Marin Mount Vision.
88 Cinder cone with splatter paint job
90 Orange Clockwork
91 Eldridge grade (owned)
Another vote for the Turner 5 Spot - 4 bar version. It's the only bike from the over the years that I've bought and kept.
Possibly missed it further up the list, but the Inbred must rate a mention nowadays?
I had a Trek Y22 - great bike
Also had a Roberts - but not a BogsBollox but a Genesis ... Hated it , it was like a gate, absolutely huge for a 20 inch frame
And I had to reverse the BB just so the cranks would clear the frame
And it was a chain suck monster ....
Always fancied a Raleigh Tomac replica with the carbon tubes and Merlin Ti lugs.
Still got a Pace RC100 which I bought off a friend when he got bored of it. Also have a 1996 Merlin Mountain which I haven't ridden in years, as dare I say it, I don't like it. Had a Fat Chance Wicked and that wasn't great in my opinion either. Best riding frame I have ever had is a probably a Orange P7. Moral of the story just because it's expensive and sought after don't necessarily make it better.
Always had a thing for the Raleigh DHO....
Great thread.
I'm usually a resident on RetroBike where almost anything old is valued, so it's great to see what people's wish lists really look like.
Back in the 90's, I wanted a Zaskar LE, so I saved up, bought a frame and built one. It was and is a great fun bike and I'll never part with it. Next on the list, thanks to the magazine tests of the time, was a Roberts DOGS. It took another 15 years, and half a year waiting for it to return from a refub back at the workshop of its birth, but now I have one.
Was it worth the wait....OH YES!
Nice to see Greg Fuquay mentioned, I just acquired one of his frames, it'll be interesting to see how it compares to the DB.
Don't have much of a wish list, maybe a HOTTA e-stay carbon mtb.
