Just back from the most painful ride I've ever been on. More painful than breaking a hand and having to hike 2 hours for a ferry then 3 trains home. More painful than any fall (so far).

So what happened?

Cold. Wind. Rain. Snow.

A horrible day. Mix of rain and snow, travelling horizontally most of the time in strong winds. Couldn't unzip my jacket, remove my socks or even stand still when I got home.

I rode my zaskar up a steep hill super fast froma downhill run and hit a rock with the back wheel.

The back end shot up and the saddle it me full wack in the lower region.

Felt like a huge smack in the butt, butt hole, prostate and nuts.

My bike had buggered me! To say I was stunned and rubbing my butt for 5mins before a big ride!

That was painful and from that event rain or snow or wind is not seen as painful due to the threshhold being raised from slammed in the nether regions.

I definately reccomend it but your children may be born cross eyed.

They're quite fun those rides if you're well kitted out,i once had to pedal downhill to Burbage Valley because the wind was so strong,it was difficult riding, but the way the sky kept changing was amazing.

The sun's come out again,i'm off out.

I think well equipped is the important part. Apart from hands and feet I was fine in some 3/4 length Humvees and a waterproof.

Could squeeze water out of socks and gloves at the end though so perhaps this is an opportunity to splash out on waterproofs.

One of the other guys didn't even have a jacket - he wore a wooly jumper and borrowed a pair of gloves from me!
