A mate has bust his collarbone so can't ride DH with us next month in Morzine.

But - he will be healed enough for XC / Trail rides (if he decides he's still coming).

Is there any decent XC / Trail riding in Morzine - Les Gets - Chatel etc?

I've only ever done chairlift-assisted DH in the region, so am unaware of the XC / Trail scene.

Any info / suggestions gratefully received! ๐Ÿ˜€

I've done some XC stuff out there, think there is plenty to do but it was fairly heavy duty climbing on the routes we took!

Yes, I've just come back from Morzine and there is loads. You need a decent map of the area or some local knowledge to point you in the right direction. Depends how much climbing you want to do, but you can get away with using the lifts and doing sections.

There's loads and loads. You can do a big lift assisted tour or do some climbing.

If he has a spare tenner or so, there is a guide book for sale at the pleney bubble which has 53 routes in it of varying difficulty some purely XC and plenty of climbs or others incorparting the lifts and some mild DH runs if you like. I found it rather useful when out there with the mrs although didnt touch on much of it as i ended up doing my collar bone in :0
