Heading over to Morzine for first time next week, bit too old for the extreme downhill stuff, so any advice of XC type routes to try would be welcome (told a lot of the good stuff is not obvious), any GPS files would be welcome if you wish to share, Thanks (gemoATf2s.com)

The Col de Cou route is a nice xc route, and obvious from the free map. It isn't very technical, and has lovely views.

You go up to Avoriaz, Point de Mossettes, Les Crosets, then round to the Col de Cou and back down the valley to Morzine.

Hire a guide for a few days? It's not hard to organise once you're there, and is cheap if there's a bunch of you, they'll go at your pace, do the kinds of rides you want to do, and show you all the top secret stuff.

No brainer IMO

Tourism office have maps with numbered rides on. If you go up Le Pleney lift and MTB over to Les Gets (it's signposted) then carry on up the mountain there is a lovely loop around the edge of Les Gets that I know is numbered and on their maps. Worth getting on they are about 3 euros!
