Hi,
I wondered if anyone had recommendations of specific campsites for the first week in July?
We're looking for other mtb-ers, decent showering etc. facilities, biking distance to the lifts and ideally a website we can check out and book through.
I've not been there before so any advice would be much appreciated!
Cheers,
Nick
Google Camping les Marmottes. It's in Essert Romand, about 10 mins ride from the Morzine lifts. It ticks all the boxes that you mention. It's a quiet place though, with a couple of localish bars in the village. I'd stay there again, happily.

le grange ou frene in Les gets is great, except for the fact its a road climb above LG town
expanded a bit since we were there, but lots of on site facilities, great view of mont blanc, and you can get the Mt Chery lift up and off-road back to the site.

This is one of the very finest campsites in the world. Go there.
The only downside is they don't accept bookings.
I can heartily recommend the champion super market car park. Lived in that for 3 weeks showered in the swimming pool showers.
Camping in Les Gets, you say ?
This was taken in Les Gets - it's NOT me !

There's Oustalet in Chatel Clicky Which is at the bottom of the village towards Pre la joux. We're considering it for 3rd week in July. (If a cheap apartment doesn't win out.)
You may need to shuttle to Pre la Joux in your own vehicle though, the buses are normally full going from Chatel in the morning.
Thank you all for the comments, we're still deciding where to stay but I'm sure it will be somewhere in this topic!
Thanks again
Nick

+1 It is indeed a fantastic spot, opening your tent to that view of Mont Blanc can't be beaten.
It's a while since I've been but you used to be able to ride down to it on tracks from the top of the Mont Cherry lift (provided you didn't miss the last lift...)
Thanks a lot for the advice.
We are in two mins as to whether we're going to get a cheap apartment to rent, stay at a friends apartment if its available, or maybe camp.
If we camp, I'm going to go with Camping la Grange as advised, and the whole 'no booking' situ makes it even better.
Thanks!
Nick
