Heading over for 2 weeks.
Taking road bike as with family and generally get out in the morning before everyone's awake for an hour or 2.
Want to hire a bike for a day to do some trails though, any recommendations for hire?
Also will have an 8 year old wanting to do some lift assisted trails, any recommendations for a decent bike hire for this age?
Any road events on? Someone told me about a time trial to avoriaz which anyone can enter, wouldn't mind giving something like that a go.

It's worth a tour of the shops to see what's about, I wouldn't know the name of it - but there was a place I saw with a small collection of Commencal kids bikes including those super cool, super expensive DH bikes.

If you want my advice, don't try to avoid a short red XC route by 'shortcutting' it and then getting lost for 3 hours with an 8 year old who needs a poo, I was NOT popular.

I think French trail grading is slightly more severe than the UK equivalent, maybe worth bearing in mind.

My 8 year old did the Chavannes red in Les Gets - but that is pretty straightforward. His then 3 year old brother did it too on a LOCT on my bike.

The wife and mother in the equation couldn't watch and waited for us at the top - we went back down the green.

I'd say it's possible but pre-ride it yourself and see what you reckon.

Aquariaz is good with children.
