Hmmmm how do bikes fit to the chair lifts in Morzine?
Going in a few weeks and got a Joplin, if the bikes attach by the saddle I'm slightly worried about the post going a bit wonky.

saddle or front or back wheel, or even both wheels, depends on lifts, you'll be alreet they done really swing

They hang by the front week on the Pleney bubble car and I think generally on prongs on the front or side of the chairs otherwise. Can't recall anyway using the seat but don't take that as gospel.

I'm only going for a week, so is that the front week or the back week? ๐Ÿ˜‰

They have may variants of chair lift attachments in the Morzine area but none attach via the saddle. Most either have a hook which the forks or wheel hang over or they have a roll on roll off system.

Don't worry i've only heard of one bike coming off in the last 6 years of living here and that was on the swiss side.

The long lift from the swiss side (can't remember the lift) is very dodgy, we nearly had a few bikes fall off!

Okay so they may hook onto the wheels, fork, frame or saddle and I'm likely to get in a fight, or my bike may nearly fall off or be perfectly safe.
Perfect! ๐Ÿ˜€

at the bottom of the lift i sat on before it, the guy went to put it on and instead turned around and started pedalling off on it so i hopped off yanked it off his hands at the sty things and legged it back on

As it was last week, if I recall correctly.

Morzine
Super Morzine side - back wheel hangs from a hook
Zore - both wheels slot into a side mounted cradle
Pleney side - hooks under the fork crown at the top of the stanchtion

Les Gets
Chevanne Chair from centre - front wheel lifted in a cradle on the chair in front
New Chevanne lift Nauchets? - side mounted wheel cradle
Mont Chery cabine - didn't ride it this year...

Montriond
French National Lindarets side and the new Chaux Fleurie, both are the new side mounted wheel cradles

Morgins
Two hooks, one under down tube, other one hooks under the saddle clamp or thereabouts

Chatel - Pierre Longue
Side mounted wheel cradle

None are the Fort William, nose of saddle in a loop style.

alexx - so this was someone acting like a lifty and then running off with your bike?

I found the short chairlift up over the 'jump park' thing in Les Gets somewhat nerve-wracking. Bike hooked on thru front wheel was tending to bounce a LOT, so I was doing my best to keep a hand on it. This turned out to be justified when some poor fella's factory Sunday dropped off it and bent the forks and front end..

Wouldn't a Sunday have a bolt through front wheel? If so how did it fall off or was the bouncing about bad enough to bounce it off the hook?
