Rode into the Atlas Mountains about 7 years ago on a fantastic trip. Staying in Marrakech over Christmas and was wondering about getting a days riding in. There seem to be quite a few companies offering one day rides including loan of a decent looking bike.

I can sneak my helmet into the luggage (insert appropriate double entendre here ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) so should be good for getting away for a day. Would be nice to ride something vaguely interesting in terms of terrain, but would also just be happy to be in the mountains with a bike.

Any recommendations before I take a punt off trip advisor?

Could be quite snowy up high this time of year, sounds like a nice idea. I did some tracking there before kids came along and would love to go back with a bike one day.

I did a day riding in the Atlas at New year a couple of years ago.

We used these guys argan sports

Make sure you let them know your an experienced mountain biker and they will organise something appropriate. If you don't they might assume your just a casual tourist and will give you something appropriate to that.

Booked for the 23rd. The intermediate/advanced trip whatever that is. Anyway they have 'Giant 27.5inch full suspension bikes' so I expect the Mountains will Come Alive ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks again Bazzer, good steer

It was a really nice day out. Good weather and a lovely lunch stop down by a river. Was of fun, also did a day walking in the Atlas as well which was pretty cool too. Local guide who knew everything about the area.
