Been looking (tisos) at light windstopper style jackets.

There is an alternative type of fabric that is stretchy, much more breathable but less windproof and presumably a lot less waterproof.

Anyone use this and have any comments?

hh velocity jacket but this one adds a bit off insulation on it so not so light. Any softshell from a repsectable outdoor clothing company should do (bergaus patagucchi haglof etc etc)

Ah, yes, I believe it was developed to create flexible, and comfortable body fitting undergarments for intimate moisture management in the elderly. Perfect for your use. ๐Ÿ˜›

Dunno if it'w aht you're thinking of but I have a Howies jacket made in Schoeller 3XDry which fits your criteria.

It doesn't have a membrane like windstopper so it's much more breathable. It isn't 100% windproof either but you wouldn't know it in practice so no worries there. On the downside, water resistance is a little disappointing and like most of these jackets it has a bit of insulation which effectively rules it out for serious riding for me- more than a few miles at a reasonable pace and it's just too hot unless it's properly freezing out, which of course it usually isn't.

TBH I'd look at just a shell in something like Pertex- better water resistance and not so hot.

ta. I have a Pertex which isn't bad. I want something in between that and the heavy windstopper I use in winter. It's just annoying you can't try one out!
