Evening ladies and gents , Heading back to my home turf (Elgin) next month and looking to have a blast on the best bits of the Moray monster trails. Ive only been into the mountain bike scene for a little under a year and my usual rides are Glentress red , The Pentlands and local trails. Can anyone suggest the best of the trails as I will probably only get a day to have a blast.
Many thanks
Stan Free.
IMO Best to start at the Ordiequish car park, up to the start of the Haggis and link it in with the Dragon's tail and Soup Dragon, back into the car park.
Then back up to ride the Gully Monster 8) Could be a bit sketchy if it snows as predicted - makes it more fun though.
Forres now also has a decent little training loop in Sanquhar Woods if you get the chance....
Many thanks Agent will give Forres a wee look also.
the fluffy bunny is pretty fun but dont bother with the uphill jump section at that end. it was pretty snowy last week. yep the forres loop is fun, short but good.
ye'll manage both whiteash and ordiequish - easy trails, easy riding - great fun ๐

And I hated the Ben Aigan Hammer, with the exception of 'The Mast Blast', which was excellent. Wish I'd tried the other trails instead...
If i was you i would start on the white ash red then cross over onto the ordiequish routes haggis then dragons tail, soup dragon then back up for the gully monster black and then back over the a96 to finish the white ash red.
Wouldn't bother with ben aigan, its a massive climb to the top and the hammer just doesn't work. The pink fluffy bunny and mast blast are fast and fun but over so quickly (uplift days here are popular for a reason!)
