There isn’t one.

We’re going BMXing.

Normal service will be resumed on March 23rd. Littleborough anyone?

yes. BMX.
i'll hopefully be all moved to horwich by the 23rd. littleborough would be easier to get to from there than from chorlton of an evening. well, any of our regular locations will be, to be fair!

Heh, all good, been back on the bike for a week now - should be fine for Monday, assuming I don't whack anything on Saturday's Lakes trip...

Good point, well made.

We can do Littleborough then perhaps. Or maybe something else. HTH

Littlebrough sounds good. If it's dry enough for the Mordor route I have a small extension to it which may be of interest.

And if it's dry enough (it had better be, I'm sick of gritstone mud breaking my bikes), what about the Wardle/Hades Hill route on the other day?

Hey.

So - are the lessons progressive?

BothStripes came to the last one and we're wondering if we'll be taking what we learned last time further?

Not really, it's the same format each time: you start off on the flat, then last 2 straights, then full track, then ramp, then start gate laps, and muck about jumping the barrels if Toby is there. Some people won't have been before so they can't really do much else.

You'll be able to ask the coaches for pointers and whatnot though, obviously.

It would seem to me that groups of lessons, maybe 4 progressing through and then start again would make more sense.

But that´s just, like, my opinion, man.

I think the trouble is that at that track you're limited in how much you can progress. At some point you need to move to jumping from fast manualing, and the jumps there are quite big so it's a bloody big, err, jump. Last time chatting to the young lad he said the best thing to do was go to a smaller track like Platt Fields where it's much easier and safer to learn to jump. Could be an option for when it's warmer and dryer but you would need your own bike and kit.

Morning all. It's not looking like I'm going to make it tonight. The Hectic schedule of the newly self-employed. Does anyone want my place?

Doubt I'm going to make it either. My back is totally b*ggered. Couldn't even bend over to put my socks on this morning and a miraculous recovery is very unlikely at this point in time. I seem to be cursed with injuries and illness at the moment 🙁

Two days riding in a row have left me stiff/legs nicely knackered so I might only last an hour. Then again I might be off/at it till the end 😀

Is there a spare spot for tonight then? I've got a mate who might fill it if it's a space with bike rental

My spot's up for grabs, I'm definitely not going to make it. I could probably turn up and trundle round the track but someone might have to carry me back to the car afterwards and drive me home. 👿

I've just phoned him, apparently he's in a pretty bad way after the Enduro yesterday, used a few choice words to say 'no'

Today I learned that silicone heel pads are the best BMX accessory:

Tonight was the first session I've been able to walk without wincing after.

I’m looking at buying a full face helmet (which is barmy as I will only wear it for two hours a month) as mine last night smelled a bit like the inside of a cow’s bum.

Anybody know of any lids being discounted?
