So looking to pull the trigger on a Codeine soon and considering the shock options

It comes as standard with a Monarch debonair.

Or +£50 for the Monarch Plus

or +£100 for the CCDB

So is the Plus worth the extra £50 and is the CCDB worth the extra £50 over that?

Also still pondering sizing, a tad under 6ft & current riding the 19" Ghost AMR 2978 which has a 610mm top tube, hence not sure if I should go for the medium (600mm top tube) or the large (620mm)

Debonair plus is a great shock, never tried a Ccbb air but I also hear good things... Isn't there a weight max on the cc ??? 80kg max??? I'm sure I read it on a thread.

Not impressed with my Monarch RCT3, it's just "wooden". I've made it a lot better by getting the adapter and playing with the IFP pressure - it was way out when first checked, which might have been the issue. If I could afford an upgrade I definitely would. The Monarch+ is meant to be a different and better beast. The CCDB air, better still and a bit of a bargain for an extra £100. On a single pivot, straight forward design like the Codeine, I'd imagine the upgrade will be well worth it where the ride characteristics are more shock than suspension design driven. I'm sure it was the CCDB inline that has a recommended weight limit? If you got it, spend the dosh.

The lack of lock off on the CCDB concerns me though since I ride a fair way to my local trails

I forget to use mine on the inline and never notice any bob on the flat or climbs

Monarch plus debonair is the cats whiskers. I like that the 3 positions just add compression and don't mess with the rebound damping like on the inline.
