If i read that right - "They've learned" but been unable to get comment from mojo?
Just called Mojo to get a DPD tracking number (need to redirect DPD to a local pickup shop due to a change in plans tomorrow so need the reference number) and there's an automated phone message saying they're closed for staff training until 3pm today, but it's now well after then. Hopefully they're having a get together and firming up plans so nobody is made redundant etc.
The article above is very confusing - Mojo haven't commented, but the journalist knows what their future business model is? Either there's been an industry bulletin from Mojo behind the scenes, or it's unofficial info from a grapevine/unverified source.
TF Tuned are hopefully just hinting they has stock left if anyone needs FOX products asap. Odd way to do it though, and really hope it's not them being underhanded.
Probably just letting people know they have a load of Fox kit in stock and soon to be at a low price. If TFTuned do have the Fox distro it's a poorly judged dig at the opposition IMO. Would put me in a bit of a quandary if they are playing games as I use them for my non Fox kit, I don't like using companies that goad the opposition at times like this.

Surely if they had stock to dump they would have sold me a full price one before they reduced the cost, or if its just come in, given me a much shorter lead time or indeed just taken the order....
I was joking before, but maybe they did get a bulk bargain from Mojo?

Lacking CSI levels of enhance admittedly but the shipping label on those (tf) boxes is dated 06/21/17 if my eyes serve me right.
So a) that's old stock, b) is been in transit a long time, c) this has been going on a long time

I can’t keep up with the thread but, Mojo’s Business was not in trouble.
Contract negotiations have been known to fail.
Large corporates never expect small business’ not to capitulate under contractual pressure (I worked for a large cooperate for a long time previously in a M&A) they always assume the SMe needs them more than they need the SME. Kinda like reverse BREXIT.
Reduction in stock is a legitimate and standard practice if you have insight into business structures and financing.
Chris’s GeoMetron project only enhanced Fox reputation and moved more sales for them, it would not be a reason for such action.
Clarity will prevail when Mojo have worked their way through the fallout.
I also wouldn’t expect CP to throw stones even if it was legitimate, that would not make long term business sense.
well i just had it confirmed that they did not take payment for my X2 shock i order about 4pm. so very doubtful i'll get what i ordered.

You hit the nail on the head.
It can mean a lot of things, but "anonymous sources" or "sources close to [x]" are a go to for publications that want to (for instance) publish speculation, or distance themselves from something that would be libellous otherwise.

That's almost certainly correct. I exchanged emails with Chris yesterday afternoon, and there's nothing to be said in public right now. To absolutely clarify: I also don't know any more than any of you.
Anything you read such as that second Cycling Industry piece is just flimsy speculation. I've been enjoying some of the more elaborate theories in this thread though 😀

Though in either case the source just pointed at the geometron as proof they can. The source didn't tell them they were going to.
CyclingIndustry.News has learned that, following the news that Fox will cease distribution with Mojo, the service specialists are to turn to creating bespoke suspension products, as well as become a tuning house for brands looking to up-spec their suspension offerings on stock bikes.

We've been as surprised as everyone else by the announcement from Mojo. Contrary to the rumour mill and general internet speculation, the trade have learned this at the same time as the public and we are also waiting to hear who the new Fox distributor & warranty centre will be. The picture causing all the excitement above is of stock that arrived at the workshop today.
In the meantime we wish our colleagues at Mojo all the best for their future projects. As one of our key suppliers they have consistently provided us with excellent service - Emily and Tayah know in particular how much we here at TF have valued their individual attention and support.
Any customers that have Fox suspension products on order with us will receive an email from me in the next day to clarify [to the best of our knowledge] the situation regarding their orders.

These things can be delayed by a fair bit - it's more likely they just had a large backlog and missed the courier yesterday. I'm assuming they'll honour as many orders as they possible can and you'll probably see it turning up in the next day or two.well i just had it confirmed that they did not take payment for my X2 shock i order about 4pm. so very doubtful i'll get what i ordered.

Different things entirely - "anonymous sources" can indeed be speculation from just about anyone but "sources close to X" is very widely understood, as others have already stated, to mean "X, speaking off the record"

That's the bit that intrigues me. They have said they don't know who it is yet but they didn't say it isn't them. Waiting on a decision maybe?

There is one small issue with that idea...
Some great tall tales and 'I heard that he heard..." stories in this thread.
The thing that surprises me about this is that Fox are not willing or able to tell their end customers what is going to happen with spares and repairs for their very expensive products. This is imo bad for consumer confidence and the brand.
Fingers crossed for the team at Mojo that there's good news or better things on the horizon.

Fox have some pretty good brand and pricing protection in place in the USA.
I wonder if there will be a legal aspect of chucking out product at well below what I would assume is Mojo/Fox's contracted bottom line...unless liquidation is happening.
If they can no longer do warranty work then that would suggest the contract has ended therefore no longer applies.
Fixing minimum re-sale prices in a distribution agreement (in the UK and EU) is impossible because of competition law. I believe that the current US position is that it is OK, but that is probably an over-simplification.
Here's the likely scenario.
CP saw it coming, indicated in no new contract, or dwindling stock availability, or increased lead times, requests to clear accts owing, whatever, he saw it. He likely decided to get out front, liquidate his stock quickly and leave Fox with a service gap and a saturated market that hurts whoever takes over while he moves on to new things. Good on him.
Fox will continue to offshore production, quality will tank, prices won't change, and they'll kill the brand eventually if decisions are made by accountants.
To compete against other brands Fox need to go direct in as many territories as possible. The Uk is an anomaly in terms of international trade and distribution channels. Often referred to as Treasure Island in the various sporting goods markets we suffer high prices and get gouged at every turn. Maybe they'll go with another distro, maybe they'll go direct. Either way they'll suffer in the UK in the aftermarket.
But then they don't give a frig, OEM is where the money is. Aftermarket probably isn't 20% of their global sales.
Good luck to CP with what he does next, here's hoping he has a viable solution for the business and the workers who made in an exceptional example of quality British service.
Being seen as a premium aftermarket option is probably what drives a lot of their OEM sales though.
They wont do well as another SR suntour or X Fusion. Simply put... X Fusion have 90 to 95 percent of the performance at half the cost.

And many other markets, too. However CRC is the go to shop for people in North America, Australia, NZ and so on because it is cheap. So much so that they are not permitted to ship sram products to USA or Canada. Likewise, mojo are not permitted to ship to north American. The people of Britain are not being ripped off when it comes to bike parts.
Good luck to all at Mojo. I'd love to see them doing something like avalanche does, but better.

I understand bike is fox's smallest revenue division.
Fox did have supply issues this year but already resolved.
Word on the trails is that there will be big changes in the industry with Taiwanese factories not giving credit to brands so the game is changing for all players. Basically smaller brands are already having to raise capital in order to pay for product pre production or pre shipping rather than 6 months after it arrives into their distribution chain.
