The weather forecast is for it to be dry – REPEAT… DRY!!!

What do you fancy?

I’m hardly in a position to be calling the shots after repeated no-shows, but we could do the Ramsbottom Hare & Hounds / Horse shoe ride, but if you have arranged anything else we’ll do that instead.

Well, you've ****ed it now, waterproofs on everybody. 🙂

I'm up for whatever but if the Rammy contingent aren't feeling it I'd be happy to lead something from Hollingworth Lake, we've not been there for aaaages.

The Rammy posse have already pencilled in a run from the H&H. A few of us are re-emerging out of our winter hibernation. It'll be a Horse shoe/tour de reservoirs, barring it being unbelievably hot from now till then, as we've had a stupendous amount of rain and the moors are a quagmire. But the sun is now shining. Feels like a long time since it put in an appearance 😀

As a repeated no-shower, I'm optimistic for this time...

Bloody sore. I'm turning up. If I can manage one lap without crying I'll take that as a win

I'm heading out for a reccie on the moors a bit, and will decide on a route accordingly, depending on how Somme-esque it is. I'm hoping another day of this sunshine and a few more bits will be ridable

Are these MNPR rides open to anyone? If so, I wouldn't mind tagging along...

Cheers

Everyone's welcome fella. The more the merrier. Social pace, technical ineptitude, merciless piss-taking, then beer and crisps afterwards.

What's not to like?

Tonight I'm planning an out-and-out dossing about route

8.15 at the Hare and Hounds.

My usual laziness applies tonight chaps. As in, I'll meet you at the Shoulder as I'm not riding down the hill to turn around and ride right back up it again.

I'm sure Harry or Daz can sort the usual cat-herding duties.

Woah there Cochise!

It was dry on the quick drying bits. The top of Turton Heights was an utter shoe sucking 6" bog and I can't see Bull Hill being any better.

Shall we do the Horseshoe and some ressies?

Woah there Cochise!

Keeping up the northern hard men image I see. Surely one of the inbred skills of a Pennines MTBer is an ability to ride through axle deep mud without drowning?

Seeing as Rammy is the MNPR Bermuda triangle, I wasn't going to reply to this cos I just assumed it'd be cancelled again, but it looks like I might see you lot later.

Sorry chaps but my mum's in hospital (her dementia has taken a turn for the worse) so I had to make do with a run earlier tonight instead.

That's rubbish Russ! Sorry to hear that mate!

Cracking run tonight. And a great turnout! Great to see spring sprunging!

The punt on how dry it would be on the moors paid off. Drying out nicely! Highlight of the evening was following Chipps and B down interstellar on their tandem. Bonkers! Can't believe you got it down that last rocky descent. Skillz! 😀

I was riding with the grace and finesse of a three-legged giraffe. You can tell I've hardly been on a bike for weeks.

I need to get some more miles in on pointy, rocky, steep stuff. I'm coming over your way tomorrow night, so you can laugh at me bouncing down the Ice Cream Run

I’ve got a comedy elbow this morning that is the size and colour of a pomegranate. The back of my hand and wrist have gone grey too and they didn’t even hit the ground. #CrapFall
