Has anyone tried this? Does it handle ok? Got an old mmmbop frame and a fox 120mm spare so perhaps looking to build a decent hardtail up. Any advice please
I run mine with 120-150 (I think) revelations and whilst it's noticeably different, think it handles well at both ends of the fork. It's easier to ride uphill at the short end and more fun going down at the long end.
Thanks. Unfortunately the forks I have are fixed 120mm so I can't increase for the descents. Anyone else have any thoughts?
Yep, I wouldn't bother- likewise ran my Bop and now my Ti with 120-150 Revs, 120 is marginally useful for climbing but it handicaps it as an allrounder
I love mine best at 130mm... 10mm either side will make sfa difference IMHO. Brilliant frames. Enjoy!

Ran mine with u-turn pikes for a while, rode pretty much everywhere at 130-140mm. I'd say 120 defeats the point of the mmmbop/bluepig a bit, more fun at 140.
(PS. If you want to sell the mmmbop frame I have a mate whos after one and is only in dudley)
I'll bear that in mind thanks Jim. It's an 18 inch in blue and only ridden a handful of times. Just deciding what to do with it at the moment
When the u-turn on my revs was broken I rode mine for weeks with it at 120mm before noticing... I seriously think 120mm will be fine and you'll still get the Mmmbop experience... 100mm on the other hand would be horrible, and I think 140mm is the upper limit.
I should probably clarify my post, it is [b][i]more [/i][/b]fun going down at the long end of my forks, but it is still fun at the short end too.
I'd bung them on and give a whirl. I doubt you'd regret it.
