I've been fiddling round with the setup of my Scandal and RIP this evening, and looking at them side by side noticed how much longer the stanchions appeared on the RIP's forks. So I measured them, and instead of the 120mm I expected, they're 140mm long. Google draws a blank, so does anyone know what's going on here? They're 2010 F29 RLs with a tapered steerer and QR.
My 100mm f29's show 115mm of leg, but when I let all the air out they bottom out at 100mm, are you getting more than 120mm travel? Or just showing some extra leg....
It's a good point. I don't think I've ever got full travel from them, but I'd put that down to not being very rad core.
I'll go and bounce up and down in the kitchen and see.
Mystery solved. They're bottoming out at 120. What's that all about then? My Rebas were starting to get a bit of an inferiority complex.
If you let all the air from the -ve chamber on the reba's I'd guess they'll also have more stantion showing than travel. RS Dual-air models seem to sit into their travel if you run the pressures equal or -ve more than +ve IME
