SRAM website has a service manual for X.0 rear mechs that covers this.

Yeah I did it on mine, was pretty easy, you need about 4 hands IIRC due to having to 'wind' the mech back on itself before screwing the stop back in.

yes but vice clamp the upper part so that you can unwind the tension in the bottom mech /jockey wheel hanger but easy to do once done

Be cheaper to buy a 2nd hand mech for a donor...maybe.

Would alloy X9 cage fit .??

Never had any issues with the X9 mechs.......

thinking is the X0 bling-weight-to-cash-colour worth it realy

X9 cage is slightly different as I found out a few years ago when I ripped my XO off in the alps, then did the same with the X9 'spare' I took. Fair bit of bodging to get the cage from X9 onto XO, and I coudn't get the whole range of gears.

Madison import Shimano, it's Fisher Outdoor for SRAM, and it is a stock part, big money though!

If it's a redwin mech then red would look awful anyway, clash of powdercoated and ano red.

They're actually red/silver/blue and don't look that good IMO.

Plain jockeys would look better, red at a push. Tacx ceramic bearing ones? They're white...

So, if anyone on this thread has the carcass of an X.0 Mech left, I could do with a plastic spacer and 2 circlips for the cage pivot axles...
