[#1862901]

Just popped to Asda with the GF, spotted a guy pushing a early/mid 90's Titanium Raleigh M-Trax, with Rockshox Judy SL's, XT drivetrain, Magura Hydro brakes, Ti handlebars, USE seatpost, Smoke/Dart tyres, WTB saddle etc.

Basically a very nice period retro bike...

Anyway, all the "showy" bits were taped over with gaffer tape (ie. the yellow forks and brakes), and it was then left unlocked outside Asda (not the kind of thing you'd do if it was your pride and joy).

So if anyone is missing this bike, suggest you get down to Asda now, it might still be there!

Are you sure it was a Raleigh m-trax.

was it chunky tubed i.e. silver polished downtube with green magura hs33's, yellow coloured triple clamps, with yellow deep rimed wheels???

Thanks.

It was an old Raleigh, and the frame was ti.

It was very fat tubed for a mid 90's bike, but then I suppose it would be due to the material. The whole frame was ti though, not lugged like some of them were, and it was a bare brushed metal finish.

The forks were single crown Rockshox Judy SL's, of 1997 vintage iirc (yellow lowers with a black wraparound decal half way up each leg). The brakes were indeed HS33's but in the fluoro yellow colour (not sure I've ever seen any green HS33's to be honest).

Wheel wise, didn't see what rims they were, but they weren't yellow, and they weren't deep section.

Certainly the guy (apologies if it was you I saw and it is your bike by the way) pushing the bike was barely old enough to know what it is/was, and would have barely been born when the bike was new. That and you wouldn't leave a valuable collectors item unlocked outside the supermarket whilst you popped in to buy 10 fags and some rizzla's if it was yours now would you!

Wish I'd taken a pic now, didn't wanna look suspect though...

Thanks for giving more detail.

Sounds like it probably isn't my 1995 custom built by a shop in Warwickshire which I uprgaded with hs33 frogs with cnc brake boosters.

Was just about to upgrade the forks to Z2 bamz aswell then was stolen from a shed whilst under a barrage of bad violently windy weather.

Can still remember that night thinking twice then being woken up to find the worst day of my life.

Would never leave a bike locked in a bike shed again and canno simply believe how insurance companies cover people for bikes locked in sheds nowadays.

KE KE KE KRAZY!

thanks again for posting here though.
quite a close one that I'd say.
