So there I was pedalling home from my ride this afternoon, coming up to two elderly chaps walking their dogs - one loose, one on a lead. I gave a couple of tings on my bell to alert them to my approach and the (small, yappy) dog on the lead turned toward me and made a bit of a charge. The owners appeared to remain oblivious to what was going on. Unfortunately the lead was one of those reel types and by the time it got to the end of the reel it had built up a decent pace and just yanked the reel out of the owners hand, made straight for my leg and gave me a nip.
A polite but forthright exchange of views followed - apparently 'he gets excited by bikes'. There was no sign of major injury so I rode off and then it hit me. I had the golden opportunity and failed you. "Next time it could be a child's face" completely slipped my mind. Am I expelled?
Theres still time to edit that story into one that makes you look like a hero.
Nope, you "missed your chance" to stamp on the irratating, badly trained rat thing. 😀

You should have shouted 'Brake!' not 'Stop!', or something.

We laugh and joke but what if it was a ' bigger ' or more aggressive dog. In light of today's horrific news & the 14 y.o. girl mauled to death...
