[#9799297]

I’m trying to work out if a 2.8 Minion DHF will fit in my non-boost Yari (preferably with Mucky Nut fender thing). Based on my past experience with a 29+ 3.0 version I’m guessing not but does anyone’s have one fitted and can check the maximum width of carcass/tread.

Ta!

If the search function worked, you'd be able to find the thread where I posted the width of a 2.8 Minion DHF in a non-Boost X-Fusion Sweep, erm, here you go:

Someone asked earlier about the size of the 2.8 Maxxis tyres. The Rekon measures exactly 70mm across its widest point, The Minion DHF is 68mm, but only been on for a couple of days so may yet grow slightly. Both on Scraper 45mm rims.

Hurrah for google... HTH - I'll recheck it later if I remember.

If the Yari is the same lowers as a Pike it'll fit but there's f all room for a mudguard and mud.

Yup, my mate used to run a 2.8 Maxxis, err, something on a Pike. It worked, and was great in the dry, where it didn't need mud clearance...

Anyone seen a 26 inch Minion 2.8 in the wild yet?

I run 2.6 Minion DHF in non boost Pikes, about 5mm clearance to the crown and 8mm each side without mudguard. With a Mudhugger clearance is OK ex mud if the guard is on dead straight but any mud or if the guard is on wonky and it fouls.

So I'd doubt a 2.8 would work too well.

I'm running a 2.8 DHF on a 35mm rim in a non-boost pike with a mudhugger FR. Clearance is tight but adequate.
