[#2644842]

Im after a mini MTB pump and just wondered what people can recommend for about £20. I very much like Topeak kit and have found it very reliable in the past so that narrows it down to a particular manufacturer, thing is they make so many mini pumps. I need one that is as compact as possible but obviously must pump well.

Any suggestions??

I've got one of these, works very well, and is about 7.5" long. Takes up next to no room in my Camelbak. 😀

Combined CO2/hand pump - is my choice

The Planet-X one is good but I don't think it's available any more

Lezyne make lovely kit, not always that well conceived (screw on pumps, aaargh) but always beautifully made. Topeak on the other hand seem to specialise in brilliantly thought out kit that's slightly poorly executed. They should have kids.

Anyway. Tiny wee mini pumps are all rubbish, it just comes with the territory. Also, you don't really save that much space. So after messing around with little ones I got a sensibly sized Truflo Evolution which doesn't take up much more space and fits neatly up the side of my camelbak reservoir, and inflates tyres with far less hassle and far faster.

Its teh screw on pump that makes it ace. No cr4ppy push on connectors and the build is ace. had so many Zefal and topeaks that just fall apart or the connectors are shit and rip your valve out.

My Lezyne has been caned and stillworks a treat.(fat MTB one)

I had a tiny wee crank brothers one (with the switvchable volume chambers) which for CB was actually quite good, better than a lezyne mini pump, although reasonably well made, nothing amazing.

Then used a topeak mountain morph for everything as a no compromise pump.

Currently using a Blackburn jobby as a compromise as the stroke length of a mini pump is always going to make pumping up tyres difficult. This fits fine into the pump port of a Camelbak Lobo

How mini is mini?

get yer mitts on one of these the best of both worlds. A mini pump that's small enough to go into a saddle bag/rear pocket & a CO2 jobbie for very quick inflation.

I've been using these for the last 4 years & they are brilliant. They do both Presta & Schreader valves, it works every time & others are amazed by how quick it inflates a tyre, if you run out of carts you can always use the hand pump. Best of all it's less than £20 😀

The correct solution for this is to not use crappy push-ons 😉 Even Lezyne know it, that's why they sell one as an upgrade.

Another fan of the lexyne alloy here. Nice and compact but pumps well. Fits in my jersey pocket or but pocket of my endura shorts.
