Had first "proper" off road ride on my Croix with Midge flared drops yesterday.
I'm still unsure if shifter position is good, they were great for access when not in the drops, but a long reach on the drops.

Before I move them, and re-tape etc, Where does everyone else position theirs ? pics would be great.

This is where mine are at moment.

Mine look about the same as yours but maybe I have a touch more tilt in the bars. I choose that position by putting them at a comfy angle for use on the drops. I set the shifters where they were comfy on the iops. Alll seems fine. Mind you I have titchy hands and use Campag shifters.

I found taking the bike out for a spin with the bars untaped, bring an allen key, and try different positions, worked for me.
hth.
