Could I use my Middleburn X-type Duo Chainset on my cyclocross bike, wit 42/38t, for example? What about chain line?
What do you think?

What's the rear spacing on your cx. Mine is 130 mm and the duo wouldn't work.

Should be fine then with a 50mm chainline - my duo is 27/42.
