Anyone else suffer chain suck with middleburn x-type even in normal dry riding?
Was running slick shift rings which I have been told are renowned for it.
Is it worth trying different rings? The gap between rings with the spider does seem quite large compared to say shimano cranks?
It puzzles me.
Stangely its fine SS ๐
Not those cranks but I suffered with chainsuck going from middle to granny with new rings, slickshift middle and standard Middleburn granny (new chain too on M960 cranks). It seems to have improved with time so maybe everything gets a bit smoother with use as the teeth wear a bit.
Yes - I did, but not chainsuck exactly - the chain would drop between the granny and middle ring and completely jam itself. Had to split the chain or remove the granny on the trail to fix it. Happened lots of times.
I was suspicious that Middleburn had got the spacing wrong betweeen the granny and middle ring - it did look wide.
However, I bought a complete set of Middleburn rings and have not suffered the problem since.
Dunno why...
I tried slickshift hardcore rings and with a brand new chain and cassette on a dry day got chain suck so bad I binned the rings. Any more damage and it would have written off my chsinstay!
