Can I use an 8 speed chain. Says SS 3/32 only (or something).
Also - are the spiders to fit 2/3 rings the same for sq taper and ext BB, or are they specific to BB type?

8 speed should still be 3/32" I think it's 9 speed that is narrower, but if you are buy a chain may as well buy a ss one cheaper than an 8 speed usually.

no problem using an 8 speed chain on mine (or 9spd) just whatevers handy

I prefer WI cranks as you can reverse the chainring to get double the life 🙂
