Im staying near borth next week for a week , Im taking my gaffer from work ! .. he fancies taking his mountain bike to some real riding so booked a caravan ...
Im taking him to nant-y-arian for the first day or so, where's worth riding as well ?? .... have looked at the mach trails as well (never been)... anywhere else ??

You could head over to the Elan Valley if you like loads of great trails all to yourself. 🙂

There's some good stuff in the hills above Tywyn and Pennal, easy to make a good loop starting from either of those or from Machynlleth. Another option is ride from Machynlleth to Nant (and back), if the weather's nice it'll be cracking.
Or as Stu says, nip down to Rhayader and explore the Elan valley.
