Press conference in Denmark right now where he is admitting 12 years of doping.
Apparantly also naming others who doped at Rabobank.

Reading through the transcript on one of the Danish news sites he doesn't say much other than over the years he used EPO, human growth hormone, testosterone, DHEA, insulin, IGF-1 and Cortisone (pretty good going) and that further info is confidential at the moment while various authorities deal with it – it doesn't seem like much more will be revealed at this stage.

This is not news though is it? Well, him saying it is I guess but I'm assuming everyone could have had an educated guess that this was the case.

Wonder if Bjarne will finally start saying something.
As Nicki Sørensen is mentioned for the period where they worked for Bjarne, so yet more people now saying that Bjarne knew about the doping.

How Bjarne can still be running a cycling team is beyond me.

Isn't that the 3rd mens MTB world champ on EPO and one woman?
Dirty as pro road maybe without all the fuss they slip under the radar

Gotta say it, When he won the KOM in 2005 and 2006 it was possibly of the most amazing climbing solo stage wins i have ever seen. Amazing Cycling.

But this is Bjarne "I took EPO and won the TdF, so what?" Riis. I think he's got some sort of dirt on the UCI because there's no way that he should be running a team. For that matter, if Katusha fail the ethical test for a World Tour license, so should Saxo.

Evans was apparently off his mash when he was racing MTB too. It's rife everywhere.

Pair of dopers or not that duel with Contador in the tour was one of the best bits of racing I've ever seen.

Did Rasmussen use his power and wealth to ruin those who tried to out him?

In what way was Evans 'off his mash'? Now I'm not know for being a doping apologist but I've never really seen anything that links him with doping?

I also dislike Rasmussen for doping if that helps. Tempted to have a go at those being apologists by suggesting stuff like "one of the best bits of racing I've ever seen", but not sure I can be bothered. The thing is, this one really isn't news at all - unlike Armstrong, Rasmussen doesn't have hordes of disciples who think he couldn't possibly have doped even after found guilty (who then turn into apologists when he owns up). Surely everybody knew he'd been on the juice for a long time from the point he got thrown off the Tour by his own team?

Apparently he spilled the beans on CSC's practices....

If Riis has to come clean then thats a lot of dirt.

Go on then, tell me how that makes me an apologist?

At the time it was genuine edge of the seat stuff. It's only with hindsight that we know it was rotten.

Was apparently well known according to a few pros who raced WC's with him. It was either that or he was bipolar 🙂
