Apologies if I'm late to the party with this (I usually am!) but this made my stomach do a little somersault on some of the stair sections.

You are late to the party, but I do love those crazy south american urban downhills.
This one from Bolivia is good too
and the one from llleton or wherever
I've seen the Mexico one a few times with different riders. The Bolivia course looks bonkers. The helmet cam doesn't show it to its full potential either. Faster, steeper and tighter than it looks on cam. No room for mincers there.
I always love watching these. They should include one in the WC series.
It looks like they've changed the course a bit from last year, but it's still nuts, all the same.
They were talking about doing their own urban DH series for 2014
That would be good if it had the same coverage as the WC.
You'd ride like that if you had a 14 year old Mexican drug dealer chasing you down with a semi-automatic intent on stealing your bike.
