Been buying a lot from them recently - always quick, always great VFM.
Just had a wheel delivered today for wife's '08 Rockhopper Disk- built by them, Mavic xc717 on XT hub with fairly decent DB spokes, all black - £90 delivered!!!
It's been really well made - spoke tensions all bang on, 100% true, etc.
I got 2x Hoops (Pro2 on 717s) for my Stumpy a month ago but these have shot up in price and become hard to source. I know Hope hubs are better but the Hoops are now almost double the price with the same rims.
Anyway, happy customer here!
Can merlin not build up Hope hubs any more?
I'm thinking of going down this route. My Hope Hoops ProII 4.2D rear wheel is totally trashed, think I need something stronger for the rear
Ouch just looked at the price £174 for ProII on Mavic 719's!!
Might just buy a new rim instead
Rich - yep they do Hopes but this wheel is for a £600 Rockhopper - I thought the extra cost (though still cheap) was a bit much. Do check their custom builds though - At the moment they come in cheaper (much cheaper) than Hoops for what is essentially the same wheel.
When I bought my Hoops, they were about the same price.
