I've just signed up for the Merida Marathon at Ruthin, as I'm in Wales that weekend.

I've not done one before. Is anyone from here doing it, and what should I expect in terms of the course, camping etc?

I'm up for it and have done it the last few years. IMO it's their best Welsh course, lots of climbing but not as technical as the others and well marshalled.

Not tried the camping so can't comment.

Which distance are you going for?

Meridas always seem very well organised. Good, basic camping. Expect lots of riders (hundreds!)

camping is pretty good on sports fields, toilets and showers get a bit grubby towards the end of sunday , but thats what you get with 100's of dirty bikers.
good value for money weekend all in all, course ok a couple of years ago but like already said ,not too technical, rode it rigid ss without major wories

I am doing the 100k and it is not as difficult as the Selkirk one from last month. Not as much climbing as the majority of it is on a road at the start.
