Hi,

I've started wearing castelli gabba gear on the road. It's great, but I wouldn't like to go crashing through brambles on my mountian bike on it.

This stolen goat hoodie looks similar, but good for MTB.

Does the orkan stuff work for doing jumps and with mates and hanging about in the woods rather than constant tempo road stuff?

Do you think this jacket/ hoodie would work autumn through winter and spring?

I ride in a softshell when temperatures go below about 8 and it works for me. Strikes a decent balance between water resistance, wind resistance, and breathability.

That wouldn't suit me though because it doesn't have a collar that comes up the front so you can cover your lower face. I like that to hide behind. The SS I have also had enough stretch in the arms/cuffs that allow them to be pulled up to the elbows.

To a point, but for genuinely cold wet days it only really works (for me) for constant high tempo efforts. For winter CX type stuff when I might still be crashing about through branches and mud I still rely on a really really really old Paclite which I don't mind getting knackered.

Thanks!

Currently I've got a polartek insulated jacket which gets a waterproof or a gabba vest over the top of it when it gets colder or wetter.

The collar on both goes right up to my chin
