Fast, dry bits pinning it then too fast into horrid muddy corners - bike in desperate slides, then dry and grippy again and recover. Proudly wearing my singletrack jersey.

Oh BTW, I finally swapped the big 685mm EA50s onto the TranceX, with the mucky white ODIs. What a difference to control, I should have done it months ago.

Just 30-40 mins up the road for me and i've only ridden there 5 times.

Cheddar challenge and clic was 2 of those times.

And yet I visit the Qs not infrequently - they're much better when it's damp out - sorry to have missed out on the recent STW ride. And it's virtually a free-for-all up there whereas you need a bit of sneak around here to find the best stuff. And we lost our best DH-style trails last autumn which was annoying. If the summer develops properly this year so that the trails stay nice, I might contact agentdagnamit and scienceofficer to organise an STW outing - I'll do the slow group!

My mendips ride experiences

1. cheddar challenge 04 wash out.........pissed up the night before and bonked badly passing out midway on my last lap. ๐Ÿ˜†

2.BMBC ride, dry dusty bimble, twas nice as it was my first years of riding mtb. ๐Ÿ™‚

3. post clic ride 3 years ago, chasing a group of semi pro endurance riders round for a few hrs.......OW! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

4. CLIC, first lap i re-tear my knee ligaments, 5 weeks after tearing them the first time, oh and it was that year it pissed down....bugger! ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

5. a very wet and windy winter night ride follow by a beer and log fire steam dry.... 8)

I'll be back for some more

It gets rather sh1ty in the winter for sure, and the last two summers did it no good at all. This spring has been great so far. Hope to see you around here sometime.
