Signed up for the Mega this year and got bike, accomodation and transprt sorted, just leaves the insurance...
Does anyone know of a decent, well priced insurance company that will cover the race? Looked at snowcard but they're a bit expensive so wondered if anyone has done it/is doing and has a good deal?
Not looked yet this year. Used snowcard last year. Look closely at the policy as there were a lot of expensive looking helicopter trips going on. Dont know if you ski/board but I assumed rescue would be pretty much like that. In reality it seemed to be pretty much helicopter for anything you cant walk away from because there isnt`t a piest for the blood wagon to drive along.
Best fun you can have on a bike though. You wont regret it.
snowcard are very good uesed it many times biking/diving ect also me pal needed it 2 year ago when we where at the mega they pay out when you need it.
i would get a E111 card ( http://www.e111.org.uk/)aswell as hospitals/medic centers ask for them hopefully you wont need them. MAKE SURE you tell the insurace cover is for DH racing comp not just DH riding. enjoy an see ya there
