...anyone got any? Would prefer to be in the town itself so we're not relying on car / shuttles and don't have to worry about getting back when drunk in the evening 🙂

how many for?
Big chalets by the airport, very nice places some with hot tubs. Last time was up there with a few teams around. Airport restaurant was also very good (2011)

it's likely to be just two of us - so hotel or apartment really... anyone know anywhere that's comfy and won't break the bank!?

Have stayed in ADH many times. Hotel Chamois is a bit cheap and cheerful but always do decent food. Would recommend a trip to a restaurant called Rendez Vous near the finish line of the tour. A good friend of mine runs it and it's superb, feel free to check out reviews on line.

Rather jealous that I'm not going over myself.
