Exo high roller 2 for race , but qualifying looks more hard core so after lots of advice going to go dual ply on rear possibly front to, suggestions please

Dual ply. One less thing to worry about. Get a good run down with no mechanicals and you can generally get into one of the mass starts.

It's good that you'll have the dual plys. You can make the decision whether to keep them on for the main race once you've checked it out for yourself.
I used a Butcher front and Minion DHF rear I think, which was fine - but if I was buying now I'd probably go HR2 front and DHR2 rear.
