Will this work fine before i order one?

It will be fine.. If you run Shimano and your not a bike tart, get the SLX shaddow, they are quiet and have a stronger spring than the XT etc...

yes you can even get away with a long cage on a 34 /22 double as well

yes it works perfectly even with an 11-34 cassette
