[#6992320]

My rear wheel started wobbling the night before we came away for a week staying near Keswick, I have some replacement bearings but not the tools to change them, it's a Superstar Switch Evo hub.

Have called a few of the local bike shops but they're booked up for the week, but might be able to do something sooner if I drop the wheel off, obviously I'm keen to get it sorted and not miss out on riding time which has to be fitted around the family when the opportunity arises.

Any of the local forum members able to help me out?

Fingers crossed!

Cheers

Mr B

Hi Mike, haven't started venturing further out than Keswick for shop so not tried Cockermouth, will give them a call tomorrow...today's now not going to be an option until this evening. First call was to Cyclewise, Keswick Bikes was next.

How wobbly is it? Can't you just leave it?

I can lend you a 26" or possibly 29" until you can get it sorted. My email is in my profile. 4 Play in Cockermouth may be your best bet for prompt - easy to spend a mooching morning or afternoon there.
What tools do you need?

Check the axle adapters are screwed all the way in. I have the same hub with QR adapters, and if I neglect it they loosen slightly from time to time, giving the wheel a bit of play and a noticeable knocking sound.

Thanks for the replies and offers of help, have managed to get everything sorted.

Threw the wheel in the car when we went out this afternoon and stopped in at Cyclewise and lucked out, they fitted my new bearings for a £10. Happy days!
