Hi all,
Rebuilding my father in laws Carrera Kraken. Got rid of his god awful cranks and group set for SLX. Going to run it 1x9, I've got a narrow wide chainring, he's only riding it to work and on towpaths, will I need a Chain guide in the absence of a clutch mech?

Nope, nw on it's own is enough as long as you are not doing drops and steps

As above a NW works fine on its own
