cycling home through hammersmith last night, 1st daylight ride home of the year going at warp factor 10 (well big ring little sprocket)
when bang some kid on a microscooter launches off the kerb about a metre in front of me
fortunately i seem to have only hit the scooter not the kid
unfortunately me and the bike go flying get up crowd try to walk, ouch
security guard in iceland was very kind offered me a seat, in my daze refused an ambulance and cycled, with one foot clipped in to a&e

broken calcaneus 6[s]mths[/s] (i meant weeks) in a cast specialist tomorrow to see if i will need an op and pins/plate 🙁
not happy my head is full of issues
last night woke up in excruciating pain
5mth baby not easy to manage with 1 leg (though i get to see lots more of him)
boss is really really not happy
im gonna get fat, spring is here and i cant ride my bike
chances of me doing the megavalanche are 50/50? (why didnt i buy the 4 euro cancellation insurance!)
ive cycled in some form probably 6 out of 7 days for the last 6 or so years- at least i have the ps3!
Nasty! Bad timing eh, BST arrives and you're off the bike for 6 months 🙁 Can you sell Mega entries if it becomes apparent nearer the date that you can't do it ?

I broke my hip when my daughter was 3 months old. Was off work for 6 weeks and a further 6 weeks on short days.
At least they can't run away at that age!

I feel your pain to some extent.
I got back from 7 months away on business last month,
built up a new DH race bike as a treat,
took it out for it's maiden vogage last Sunday,
crashed it within 2 hours,
ended up cracking my shoulder, breaking my collar bone, breaking 3 ribs, costochondral separation on bottom 2 ribs.
off the bike for about 3 months and not very comfortable at all to be honest.
on the upside, i am now actually quite good at COD Modern Warfare online, and i'm still much better looking that most people I know 😉

Just had a bone graft on a non union in my arm and i'll be in plaster for 6 weeks while my new five sits here motivating/frustrating me.
dont worry bike was fine!well rear qr is a scratched
infact i didnt receive a single graze or scratch i think my foot may have absorbed the entirety of the impact
im gonna see if i can get any cctv footage!
x-rays- i just asked the doc and he let me take a pic of teh screen with my phone, but i think if you ask teh radiographer nicely theyll do you a copy
Bad Luck buddy! Hope you're back on the bike soon - I have sympathy on the pain of a broken foot....last year I broken mine pretty badly in an MTB accident (and I was in a cast & on crutches for 6 months! 😯 ), but it will get better and you'll be back on the bike before you know it!

ive also put in a foi request with the council for cctv footage, will i get it? or would data protection of teh kid involved prevent me from viewing it?
