Long story short: Advertised frame on Pinkbike, quickly got message from a potential buyer in Czh Rep offering full asking price.
Buyer has no followers and no pictures on there, which is not confidence inspiring that I'm dealing with a genuine rider.
I replied "OK but it would need to be bank transfer".
He says "haven't you got PP?"
I respond "I can only accept bank transfer with buyers out of UK"
Basically I'm worried about a phoney dispute that I won't be able to pursue.
No reply from him, so I think "got to get up earlier in the morning to catch me out old son" and congratulate myself on my canniness.
Until today he replies and says OK to bank transfer.
So I can't think of any way I'd be at risk now, can you?
Maybe you could ask for his eBay details to..Czech him out?
that was one sweet reply. Nice
The issue with a bank transfer is if he's got access to someone else's account and is transferring the money without their authority.
If it's a fraudulent bank transfer the bank will eventually reverse it once the owner of the account realises they've been the victim of fraud.
western union or some other money-transfer company...
thanks mauja, didn't think of that
probably not the case but I don't really need the extra worry at the moment
stevied - har har
And still no one has said you should make him pay by Czech?
I would pass TBH, there is just too much that could go wrong compared to selling it to a UK buyer with some history.
As my old man used to say, if it looks like S&^t and smells like s^&t, chances are it is s&^t..
