Would this work? I see they are optimised for a 30+ mm rim but fancy a 2.5 shorter ffor winter

Cheers

I eventually got an answer off Maxxis to this. Technically would work but the tyre pattern would be deformed so not work/grip as intended, and they could not guarantee the beed would sit correctly on the rim.

2.5 shorty isnt massive, works very well on my 30mm rims, cant see that youd have that much trouble

My friend mounted my DHF WT 2.5 to 23mm internal rims and it was fine.

As Kimbers said, they aren't massive, roughly the same width as a 2.35 Magic Mary.

I run them on 29mm internal rims, they're flipping brilliant. Go for it.

Just not on the back, I'd expect that'd be quite tiring.

They work great on a Flow EX, really great. That's 25.5mm internal width, with both the Shorty 2.5 and DHF 2.5

I have mine on a 28mm internal 29er rim, no problems at all, 25mm isn't so different. (same with DHR2 WT) I think it's mostly hype tbh, in the same way as schwalbe are pretending 2.6 is a plus tyre.

It's awesome btw, like cheating in mixed conditions. I really like the 2.3 but throw in a load of roots and wet cold rocks and the 2.5 really takes over.
