[#311047]

Been using a Minion 2.3 Super Tacky as a front tyre for a while, but noticed that the trailing edge on the knobs (oh err) are breaking up.

Haven't noticed anything in terms of grip yet, but it looks like they're all about to shear off.

Anyone else had this? Good tyre, but its far from being worn out, if it had been on the rear wheel I suppose it would be worn out completely now.

it's soft rubber, it's going to wear faster. Don't worry and keep riding until you feel a loss of grip. Or take it off and save it for dry conditions where a semi slick is useful 😉

Super tackys do that. Its the price you pay fro such a soft compound.

Suoer Tackys lasted me about 5 Days in Whistler Bike Park before they started doing that. They wear super fast especially in dry weather. I got about 30 days out of 3C minions but i dont think they sell them in the UK anymore

at approx £70 per tyre you can see why !

As AndyPaice says , might take them off and use in the drier conditions (later this year?).

Might be a little early to put my new Nobby Nics on though. Should notice the difference in better rolling resistance though.

I've got 2 x 3C's if anybody wants them 2.5. Only used for 1 wet muddy ride.

£60 posted for both.

Sorry about the thread hijack

As said, that looks fairly normal for a super tacky tyre.

you'll notice a massive difference in rolling res, but the ST compound is nice on the front if you can tolerate the wear/drag. O the rear it's just silly hard work 🙁
