How can i tell if they are dual ply without taking them off?

They will probably say dual ply on the side walls if they are.
They will be much harder when you squeeze them by hand when deflated too, hold shape better

Do you end up covered in a fragrant mixture of sick and tears by the top of long climbs? They're dual-ply then. 😉

Weight. Dual ply are about 1.2kg each...
