I know they are down as a mud loose tyre, but how do they roll?

They roll really well for a mud tyre and they're a moderate sort of 2.0 I'd say. I ran them at the insanely muddy Mayhem a few years back and they managed to be both respectively fast, very grippy and also cleared well. Much quicker than things like Bontrager muds or whatever they're called these days, fast enough that some folk use them as a general trail tyre.

You can get them in 2.25 for a bit more volume and exo casing for a bit of toughness, roll well for a mud tyre.

2.0 (29er) are a bit narrow, though it's a mud tyre so what'd you expect, prefer the 2.25 size for a bit more of an all round wet weather tyre. Nearly completely wore a 2.0 out, on the rear over last winter, so would save them for the wet weather but will be buying them again. Not long changed the front one (laziness & intermittent crap weather), can't say the advent that's gone back on seem to roll any noticeably better

I have been using a 2.0 29er one on the front until last week it rolls really well and work pretty well in the dry too.

Ran maxxis medusa which rolled well and I think it's more mud specific than the beaver?

They really are excellent tyres, on my bikes pretty much exclusively through winter.

I like the 2.25 Exo on the back. Its not an true mud tyre more of an intermediate so proper slop can still overwhelm it. Does better than most though. It seems to roll well enough considering too. I've really noticed the grip on the steep grassy climbs around here and like it as an alrounder.

I love my 2 inch beavers. They feel narrow, but I'm used to Hans Dampfs and Fat Alberts. They are great in mud, but as an all year round XC tyres they are ace too. They roll nicely and are (in the variety I have) really light.

I had 2" beavers on my hardtail last winter and found them excellent in the mud, did not clogg up and the back wheel found traction where I did not expect to.

I did find them hard work on the Tarmac to and from my local woods but it was worth it for the performance once I got there.

Really flimsy sideways on the normal casing, expect to run mega pressures if you ride anywhere rough. Imo their main feature is their ability to clear mud well and keep workin rather than give huge grip like a proper spike
