29x2 out back tubeless
Needed a tube first time round, then a compressor, but it's sealed (Stans Flows)and stayed up fine.
Super lightweight, rolls really well, shed loads of grip, rated as a 2.0 and comes up to size, gives enough cush for the rigid, OK price too - winter winner?
they are ace, but damn flimsy, was hoping for an exo version but looks like it won't happen this year
any good on wet roots?
Got one on the back of my 29r and so far it's been very good. Tread not as deep as Mud X but grips very well. Gives more frame clearance than the 2.2 tyre I took off so displaces the mud easier as well. The 2.2 Purgatory up front seems fine as well, gripping nicely and giving a bit more volume. They'll do me for the Winter 🙂
Wet roots fine - my riding is woodsy and hard pack. Does all that fine

Tried and failed to run them tubeless on my Halo rims. Really soft grippy feeling rubber ace out on the filthy trails we have. Not too back on the frozen solid ones we had last week as well. As mentioned above feel a bit flimsy and I've had a puncture per ride until I fitted Maxxis welterweight tubes. I wouldn't go for the light EXCs again, I'd just get the normal folders.
I presume you tried a tube to get it seated? They are tricky tubeless
I love them; unlike others they sealed first time for me on Flow rims with a 16g CO2 canister and 2 scoops of sealant
Yeah, the tyres are a really baggy fit on the halo rims.
TBF mine was a super baggy fit too, on Flows. Tried with the compressor and loads of washing-up liquid for some time, then gave up and put a tube in. Still was tricky after removing tube from one side, but eventually went up
I keep meaning to change to a mud tyre, but I'm finding a Racing Ralph 2.4 on wide rim at low pressure is just the job - quite a revelation in fact!
It's amazing how much grip those RR's have
I have tubed Beavers at both ends (oooo missus), they were brill at the Forest of Dean on Sunday, except in mud (?)
What kind of mud?
The mud in FoD especially the off-piste stuff is a challenge for any tyre in my experience, only time swampthings wouldn't keep you upright
It was really runny 3" deep stuff. It's only 20' long bit on the blue trail. But still, I'm a happy bunny...........
Mmmmm I need a new rear and was going to get a Storm Control (26) to replace my Swampy.

Was looking at Storm/Purgatory combi for winter riding but this seems so much lighter than the storm...
What maxxis tyre would you pair it with out front.

Beavers both ends, winner.
I went from RR/NN combo on my old 29er to have a go with HansDampfs (didn't like) to Beavers on MrSchmancy. Still early days but they were good a couple of weeks ago when Noah almost put the finishing touches to his Ark.
I use Han Dampf up front @ ~18psi on my rigid 29er - [i]slightly[/i] draggy, but nothing to complain about, but tons of grip and plenty of cush
Just bought a 29x2.0 Spec Storm control 612g and 29x2.0 Maxxis Beaver 572g so only 40g in it. I havent tried either yet! Spec feels a bit more tacky rubber, but the snipes in the Beaver may compensate.

While we're updating ye olde beaver thread I did manage to get them to run tubeless on some dc3 rims from a cannondale SS.
